<VV> Smoking Engine

I quit smoking over 20 years ago and I would also like to
break my '64 Spyder from the habit.

On start up, it sends out a pretty good puff of gray white
smoke and that is the only time it smokes.  It also has
a noisy lifter, could be related?

Any thoughts on what could be causing the smoking would
be appreciated.
