<VV> Some Corvair

Mike:

And I for one find this group very easy to moderate!

Update on my car - I spoke to captain vendor today to get some parts sent to the college in Cleveland.

It seems the students jumped on my car immediately and it has already been sanded and primed.

I bought a rear grill on e bay (NOS) - paid too much - and various parts are being sent for installation.

My old friend Doria from Corsa, Ontario (Toronto) gave me a metallic red GM paint code, so I went with it sight unseen.

I guess that is the blissfulness of having colour vision deficiency.

The trunk is getting painted body colour and I used the advice on stripe dimensions from Harry and his Yenko buddies. (Thanks for the pics Harry)

I tied to buy a Yenko type rear spoiler from vendor man today and there was no stock! The car will be painted in two weeks so there is no time for a back order.

Rats!

If you have a replica of a Yenko spoiler that you want to part with at a reasonable price and it is immediately available, please contact me off line. I can replace it later if that works for you.

By my calculations, I am seven months ahead of schedule! My last car took 12 months at the same school so this is a bit of a shocker!

I have been watching the election campaign in Canada. The dippers (NDP) have introduced an innovative auto plan to save the car industry including the need to have an open door policy for Japan and Korea.

I plan to fax in my application for my ballot for Canada's upcoming Federal this weekend.

High school hockey try outs for my 14 year old son this week- 5:30 AM every morning. It looks like he will make the Varsity squad...most have 50 pounds and 4 inches on him so that’s no small accomplishment.

You can take the boy out of Canada but....

Go Sens!

No need to panic yet Andy, flame wars are few and far between here. This is one of the best behaved online groups I've ever been involved with. Hank and Matt are 2 of our more colorful personalities but most people here will just blather on and on about Corvairs with narry a mention of a Presidential candidate or any other controversial issue.

Just don't get them started on early versus late though -
or PVC pipe for compressed air, or welding vs bonding floor panels or hot vs cold valve adjusting or electric fuel pumps or .....

Don't quit yet. There's usually a lot of good stuff here.

Oh, oh! I'm a new member (joined yesterday), and must have missed something.
I've read the last 2 days of messages and many of the recent archives. I can
find no personal attacks, other than comments made tongue-in-cheek (was this
one?).
If flame wars are a part of this forum, I'm outta here already!
