The foreign companies have two things going for them in the area of
health care costs:
1. They don't have the large group of retiree that the domestics have,
and
2. The domestics negotiated their health care provisions in an era of
much lower health care costs and an era where cradle-to-the-grave
provision for employees was considered a good thing.

I don't get it, don't "foreign"  brand car companies that build and sell
cars here have to pay health care and aren't they subject to the same
litigation that GM is?
