There were so many cars getting dealer installed radios in Canada in 1965
and 1966 GM started pushing clocks for 1967 to get you to buy the factory
radio, with the 'Foundation Group' which included the AM radio AND a clock
for Monzas and 500's for about the cost of just the radio alone-

I did a little survey of '66's delivered outside urban dealers from some
production information and a slight majority of cars were no radio in both
1965 and 1966.

I am not sure if this was also the case in the US, but it wouldnt surprise
me if this was also true there,
