Is the Corvair starter drive actually different than for other 6 cylinder GM
cars? The rotation of the starter is the same. I'm askin', because I'm not
sure.

There is nothing weird about Corvair versions of Delco-Remy starters
and alternators, or even the generators concerning the rebuild parts
needed. It is just most people do not rebuild these items at home or in
a shop environment, so the FLAPS do not stock them. Brushes, bushings,
bearings, diodes are all used across several car lines. The Corvair only
parts are:
Pulley end housing on generator and alternator.
Armature has left hand thread on generator.
Starter drive (Bendix) on starter.
Starter nose.

Others anybody?
