You can make the upshifts occur with greater force by enlarging the hole in
the steel plate the valve body is screwed to that is used for the high
clutch/low release oil feed to about twice its original size in area (about
1/3 larger hole). This may entail some fine tuning of the low band
adjustment to reduce the bump (backed off a fraction of a turn). The holes
purpose is to slow the flow of oil enough to make the shift impreceptible.

On Powerglide there is no advantage from a performance or durability
perspective to harder shifts but if you like the 'feel' of a more direct
shift, that will provide it. The difference in PG from sprag type modern
transmissions is power is handed off to the clutch from the band with little
relative braking needed- new cars each clutch has to fully brake its
repsective drum.
