<VV> 110 PG fuel economy

I found Brent's essay on fuel economy thoughtful, thorough, and enlightening. The 110 PG in my '62 700 sedan consistently knocked down 25-26 mpg for the 100,000+ miles I drove it before replacing it. It was my daily driver, and I did only typical, routine maintenance on the car, never fussed with it, didn't tune it as often as I perhaps should have and sometimes even neglected it. I have a number of acquaintances who drive Corvairs regularly, if not daily, and some of them have told me they have gotten up 30+ mpg. Not trying to be argumentative, just adding to the data pool!
