<VV> Newbies who've never driven a Vair

I was in CCE 3 or 4 yrs before I could actually drive a Corvair to a
meeting. This was around late 70's early '80s. I had a 4 dr up on its side
in 1/2 of the two car garage - sandblasting the floor using a 12 gal air
compressor. Had to keep waiting for it to catch up. Took forever. About
the time I was getting near the end of that, one night the drop light was
inside the car and I was outside. It was like looking at the stars -
looking at the bottom of that floor. Did I get discouraged? well yes.
But, I cut a deal with the wife... I'd get rid of that one AND the other 4
door (bought as a parts car for the first one) which was sitting in the
driveway, if I could go buy the running convert on the other side of town.
She said yes. I pulled everything even remotely useable off those two cars
and sent the remains away.

Finally could DRIVE a CORVAIR to a CCE meeting. Joined CORSA pretty soon
after that. I think it was for the Milwaukee convention. What year was
that?

Attachments (if any) are scanned with anti-virus software.
