Confirmed.  :-(
Never even considered lower shrouds an option on my '63 'vert (turbo, 140
heads, PG).  Sealed off the heater connections too.  Found out the hard way
that even without them too much turbo makes too much heat to keep the valve
seats in place, especially when running against a V8 water pumper.
