The quote I have for labor is $600.00. Does this seem to be a fair price, or
should I shop around some more. Again, I do not feel that this is a job that
I am capable of doing. Thanks for any input.
Cecil - - -I have changed the rockers on 2 different convertibles. The price
sounds reasonable. I believe Clarks catalog says their new rockers are a
heavier gauge than original. The cars seems stiffer than another with good
original rockers.
The most important thing is for the shop to get the car balanced out on 6
jack stands. They also must have the heavy duty equipment to remove the old
rockers. Make sure they clean all of the rust and junk out of the rocker
chambers. Once the old ones are removed, the car is very vulnerable. Make sure the
doors are in good alignment and everything fits right before the new ones are
installed. If not you have a real mess. After the new ones were installed, we
rigged up a sprayer with a long tube to spray the inside of the rocker
chamber with POR 15. Good luck - - -Dick Shank
