One more comment. I've had several problems with the metal strap that is the
ground for the LM dash--the bottom screw on the right side of the column.
You usually know if it is bad because your dash illumination lights go out and
all of your idiot lights come on--dimmly at first and then brighter. One damp
convertible had a really bad case of this. I ended up putting a washer
between the strap and the bottom of the dash frame and installing a new clip nut ??
(can't remember the right name) on a new, longer sheet metal screw to make a
"permanent" cure.
The closest to Lucas electricals GM ever got.

That pesky ground strap on the bottom of the dashboard that frequently seems
to give problems. Run a REAL ground wire, for starters...

Ok wise ones. Recently my tach quit working intermittently. After a while,
I realized it quit only when I was in reverse (4spd) or when I turn on the
heater fan. I figure its a ground problem but where do you all suggest I
start to look?
