Grant, I feel your pain!

Having noticed the posts about Seller Fraud I thought I would relate one of my
experience with a fellow a few years ago. He advertised some 140 heads for
sale in the Communiqui. I called him and he told me the condition of the heads
and I sent him a money order through the Post Office. After a four week period
of waiting for delivery of the heads, I decided to give him a call. He was
very polite and apologetic about not sending the heads but promised to do so
the next day. I waited another four weeks, no heads, called again, same song
and dance, promised to send them right off, he said he had been in the
hospital and had just got home and he apologized for taking so long to make
the shipment. Four more weeks went by, no delivery. I called again, same
story, different tune. He thought I was being very impatient. I had to agree
with him on that point. I told him to either send the heads or my money back.
Waited another four weeks, went to the post office to inquire about mail
fraud, Postmaster made out some forms, had me sign them and a couple of days
later the fellow called me and ask me what in the world I was trying to do to
him. Seems the Post Office promised him legal action if he didn't refund the
money or send the merchandise. He sent the money pronto. I found out later
that he had pulled this same stunt on a couple of other fellows. His
Postmaster informed my local Postmaster of this. Even buying off of ebay I use
a money order and the Post Office. Very efficient collectors.
