as per "how to hot rod corvairs" i think, i have hogged out several 
crankcases to accept the 164 crank. it was not that hard to do with a rotary muffler 
cutter or 4 in hand held grinder. the engine in my truck is the original 
crankcase with 164 cu in guts, runs great and has the "correct numbers"well, except 
the heads ...  just be real carefull on clean up getting rid of filings...etc 
(let common sense prevail) i have done this with tools i have around here 
several times now with good results.   if you dont give a hoot about numbers put a 
164 engine in it.   regards, tim colson
