period. There is NO  common bond between the two. 
The GM A bodies were body on frame construction, not 
unibody.

You're right, in reference to the 1964-up A-bodies, they're 
body-on-frame, bland GM-type engineering.  The originals 
(1961-1963), however, are unibody cars.
