If memory serves me, my '69 Cadillac shop manual states that the (in)famous
fuseable link is a short piece of wire inserted into the harness that is 4
wire gauge sizes smaller than the main wire.  Thus a 10 gauge would be
protected by a short piece of 18 gauge wire.  If the General is at all
consistent, then it is also like that for our 'Vairs.
