So it's not just mine? Whew, what  a relief.  I actually kind of like the flex - it makes the car feel... alive!!  Well, it makes it feel like an old car anyway.

Probably because the Late Convertible chassis flexed so damn much you'd
break the windshield if the top was pinned into it!

Before anyone gets their shorts in a bunch, I've got a '67 Vert that I like!
