Actually - Only the 1967 GT-40 Race cars (called Mk IV's, I  believe) used 
the 1960 Corvair Taillights. The cars were built at Kar Kraft  in Detroit for 
Ford. They supposedly sent out a flunky with a scale and told him  "Bring back 
the lightest pair of taillights you can find at an auto parts  store.  Of 
course those were the cars that won at Le Mans. The Headline  should have read:
 
"Corvair shows taillights to all other cars at  Lemans"
 
But it didn't come out just that way!
