Doubt it. Years ago I used to seriously autocross a 65 Corsa Convert on 
Goodyear racing tires & sans cocktail shakers. Serious cornering. Never 
noticed any particular flex, broke a windscreen, or had a door pop open.

Suspect more a case of the plated pins not being cheap. Some engineer 
probably got a promotion for suggesting leaving them out.
