I still like the irony of the 1998 (?) Indy race -

Firestone almost won (except to a technical violation) for the first time in 
fifty years.

Problem was that the first Firesti=one driver to win was named Goodyear !

Who hired a guy named Goodyear to drive a Firestone car ? Who thought that 
was a good idea (besides Goodyear) ?

Is that why they didn't fight the violation ?
