Just my .02 here, but I think voting for either will dilute the intended
result. I think we'd be better off picking one 'vair and putting all our
eggs in that basket. Having nothing to go on, I arbitrarily choose Bob
Brownell (#7), as it was stated in Sarah's email that he has attended a
CORSA Nat'l.

BTW, I dunno if it'll work, but this link should take you directly to the
page with the link for the voting....

Car Craft magazine is working on a feature that will run this fall. It is
called "Real Street Eliminator". Reader's cars will be run on a drag strip,
a slalom course, a braking test, and a real-world driving evaluation. This
month's issue had the 25 "candidates" for this feature. Two of the
candidates are Corvairs! One is Bob Brownell's awesome mid-engine V-8 car
that we all saw at the Chicago convention in 2001. The other is Phillip
West's mid-engine LS1 powered car. This is great news for Corvair fans. We
need to do what we can to get these cars in the "show".
Bob's car is awesome. He romped it at Chicago Convention. It has a mid
engine 383 stroker V-8 mated to a Vair 4 speed. It was all designed and
built in Bob's garage. I think that if he can get in, he can probably win.
Phillip's car looks awesome in the photos with all handfab'ed C5 Corvette
suspension. I am afraid he may need "development time" to get his car sorted
out, but I'm voting him in also.
Okay, here's what you do. You log on to www.carcraft.com. You will see the
option "Vote for Real Street Eliminator". Choose that option. Once there,
you will see 26 pages (there is a page for each of the 25 competitors). You
can go through and look at the cars if you like, but the two you want to
vote for are: #7 - Bob Brownell's 66 mid-engine Corvair, or #15 - Phillip
West's '65 Monza mid-engine LS1 car. If you want to just vote and get it
over, go directly to page 26 and click the "Vote for RSE" icon. I don't care
which Vair you vote for, just vote for one of them. This will get us
national magazine coverage! Let's mobilize, troops!!!!

CORSA President
