Well said Ron! I too have been helping Michael with his 63. He has dropped the gas tank and cleaned and sealed it while replacing the sending unit. Then he went on to gut the interior and replace the rusted out floorpans by himself. (Welded). A lot of this he did working in the street in front of his home in the first part of this year, shoveling snow and laying in slush to work on his beloved Corvair. He had it all put back together and on the road and he was thrilled. Then, last week or so, he had an accident and damaged the fender and suspension on his right front. Broke the tie rod end and ball joint, as near as I can figure. I was just in the process of sending him a set of genuine baby moons because he wanted to go with a nostalgia look and couldn't afford mags.
I have spent hours talking to him about his car and Corvairs in general. Young people like him and our "Frog Princezz" and Geoff and my son Jim are the future of CORSA. I wish I was closer to Mass so I could go help him out. I admire him for trying to put together a 42 year old salt zone car and make it a runner. He is a keeper.
