Recently I purchased a 1969 Monza convertible with a 110 pg. Last night I
was out for a cruise when it quit running. I was able to determine it
wasn't getting fuel. I changed fuel filters and fuel pump but still it
would not run. I knew it wasn't out of gas because I filled the tank just
25 miles earlier. These miles were around town miles. After scratching my
head for some time I went and got some gas and filled the tank until it
reached the filler neck. It then started and ran fine. Before filling the
tank I unhooked a gas line from a carb, loosened the pump, and tried
pumping it up by hand but no luck. Neither a new fuel pump from Clark's or
a good used one made any difference. With the pickup located in the bottom
of the tank I don't see how adding a couple of gallons to the top of the
tank would make any difference. Does anybody out there have any ideas? Is
it possessed?
