<VV> LM Engine lid Locking devices

What's everyone using?   I'll be leaving a car on the street...in a 
city......for the 1st time in 40 yrs.......I want to keep my battery!   LOL!

I currently use a piece of 1/2"  tubing.....wedged between the lever and 
lid......hard to FEEL it's there...
