Actually, Sgt. Preston had two horses, Rex and Blackie.  At times he would
ride either of the two.

His lead dog was named "King."  The rest were named "you huskies."  :)

He's not the only one.   I think the Dope Fiend stigma got attached to the 
car in the early '60s and it's stuck ever since.
