It isn’t very often that I run into a new tool that is versatile and cheap.
A few weeks ago I picked up a 14.4V battery powered Impact Wrench. It is made
by Nikota. I bought it on sale at a Kragens store. Okay, I admit a nice
Makita or Milwaukee 18 or 24 volt model would have been better, but this one was
$40 plus tax. It won’t be breaking loose many of the lug nuts on my race car
(100 ft lbs), although it works so well to install them, that I can just
bring out the torque wrench after “Impact-ing” them down. It is much, much
lighter than the higher voltage units. Last night, after dropping out the front
suspension on my (I hope) Portland car, I used the Light Weight Impact to
remove almost all the brakes, sway bar and mounts – almost everything I needed to
remove – and no bulky air hoses either. About all I really need is a second
Battery, like I have for my drills, and I’ll be set. - Seth Emerson
