Just wanted to remind folks that I can supply some lifetime SS fuel filter
screens for our carburetors to directly replace the sintered brass ones
(guess someone had a lot of brass shavings left over from making shafts to
come up with these things anyway :-). They don't use springs so you cannot
get dirt into your carbs if they begin to plug. You simply remove them,
clean them in gas or carb cleaner, and replace them. They come as a pair
with reusable metal gaskets (and a free Corvair catalog) for $7.95
including postage (which is less than 2 pair of stock ones). I am now
installing these upgraded filters in all my rebuilds. The gaskets alone are
almost worth the price since they fix about 95% of all fuel nut leak
problems. The filters are also great for checking the condition of your
fuel system and working through a slug of trash that might find its way
past a torn or missing fuel tank sock. Thanks for the space...Private
replies, please.

<The problem with the stones is that when they get blocked they push back
against the spring and allow unfiltered gas into the carb.>
