 I must be one of the lucky ones. I have a manual 140 hp in my 62 sedan with a PG. That car will beat anything across an intersection. Seriously. And If I really want to take off, I left foot brake and rev the engine against the brakes. When I do that, it will snap your head back. The engine is bone stock, except that I took off the secondaries, so it is running on only two carbs. This is a sample of one. Your results may be different.

A 140 four speed is definitely faster than a 140 PG. And a 180 turbo is  
faster than any of them.
