To say a problem was rust in the gas tank. Took out the sending unit and bench tested it. The guage only worked when I was nearly empty. If the needle moved off of overfull, get gas. Took it apart. About 1/2 full of light flaky rust. Any good way of flushing a dry tank out without removing it.
