<VV> Spark plugs question

I know, so much money (they can be had for about 40 bucks a set if
you look around) ... and they last say 40,000 miles (likely more but
it makes the math easy) ... that is about .001 per mile. Hardly
significant in the global scheme of things. If saving of that amount
matters, then why not skip oil changes, not use electronic ignition,
use cheap oil filters, and not set up the lower shrouds properly :-)
... all of those things will save a lot more per mile! Keep in mind
if they last twice as long as 3.50 plugs then they cost no more than
3.50 plugs and less labor swapping them. If the last even longer
than that, they become the cheapest choice. My sedan ate every plug
I put in there in 2-4000 miles (AC 44ff, NGK, and Champion) ... I
already have 8k on the Silverstones and I just looked at them, they
look almost new. I suppose some of my plug trouble could be due to
the combination of the hot ignition and super charger, as I have had
less trouble with the wagon and something in between for the Spyder.
