The 65 lens is totally different from the 66-69 lens. 66-69 lenses have the
small diameter center reflector, surrounded by a small trim ring. The early 66
cars had a narrow band, and the late 66-69 had a wider ring, but about the
same ID as the early 66 rings.

Am confused again. I seem to have one each of two different sets of tail
lights and backup lights. One pair has a thin (about 1/16" deep) chrome
ring in the center and the other set has a much wider (about 3/8" thick)
ring. To really confuse things both say "Guide" and "SAE 66". Which is
correct for a 1966 Monza built in January at Willow Run ? What is the other
set ?

The ones with the wide ring are 65s.

Single year lenses.

The others are 66-69s. Correct for those years.

At least that what it sounds like the way you are describing them.

The chrome ring on the 65s is a much larger diameter
