<VV> Powerglide Measurements

To get my daughter's '64 'vert on the road as inexpensively as possible, I am planning on using the running engine from my '63 with the PG and diff. from the '64. I read in Bob Helt's book about taking measurements to ensure the proper fit. How close do these have measurements to be (tolerance)? Also, how many of you have done this kind of swapping and have found these measurements to be out of spec?
