Of course save the ULTRA solenoids, the first repair is to just turn the 
top terminal 180 degrees so the washer hits new metal! The next repair 
is to replace the terminal. Do you remember buying rebuilt solenoids at 
Pep Boys? I can still buy them at a starter rebuilder in Richmond, but I 
just do my own. I have never run into a bad winding yet. All the 
windings seem the same, as Ned describes them on his web site.

If one runs a Pertronics setup on the engine that needs a HD starter, 
then one does not need the ignition resistor bypass terminal anyway.
