This has been suggested in the past. There are a couple of problems with the
single location convention. First would be selecting the right place. It
would have to be a location that would be acceptable to a majority. The local
tours are a big part of the convention location, so that single location would
need to have plenty of things to do since no one would want to have the same
tours year after year. Good luck finding that location.

The second problem would be who's going to plan and run the convention. It
would be totally unfair to home club or clubs to ask them to plan our fun year
after year. They don't ever get to enjoy the convention that's sure not fair.
Good luck finding that group of people.

The location of the convention comes down to two decisions. First, a club
(or group of clubs) makes the decision to make a bit for the convention. There's
quite a bit of work involved in making the bid. If you loose the bid,
there's a bit of heartbreak. If you win the bid, there's a heck of a lot of work.
So, you can see that it's not an easy decision.

The next decision that has to be made is by the CORSA BOD. Your elected
officials make the selection as to where the convention will be held from the
bids that are submitted. They make their individual decisions based on any
number of reasons. Things to do in the area, weather, the host's ability to put on
a great event are just some of the things they have to consider. They know
how much hard work went into the bids and their decision is not an easy one.
They also know that no matter what decision they make, there are going to be
some that will not be happy. Then what do you do when you don't get any bids,
like the Western Division for 2008?

Just some thoughts...
