Folks, I am interested in finding out where and how the differential side
yoke fails. This is the yoke that has a splined shaft that inserts into the
carrier of the differential. On the outside of the differential, the axle
u-joint fits into it. On LMs, it has a bolt running thru it to fasten it via
a gear nut/yoke nut to the side gear within the differential carrier. If
you have seen failed ones, could you please send me an email offlist to
answer as many of the questions that apply below? I will compile and pass
on the findings.

Thank you.

Subject: Failure Modes-

Early model or late?

Exactly where did the yoke break?

Were you floating the axles?

Was the gear nut attached (LM)?

If not, was it present(LM)?

When did it fail? -For example, shifting down from third to second at aobut
xxx rpm. Or when I missed a shift... :>)

Any further information you feel pertinent.
