<VV> Houston's problem - airplane style gauges on Corvairs ?

I like airplanes, where the gauges are not lit up until it's a problem.

Best of both worlds, needles to tell you what's up, and lights to make you 
look at them.

Not much good during daylight, but at night they're great !

This could be done on a Corvair without too much trouble ?
