As Dan has pointed out the page in a shop manual, I think. This must be an  
early shop manual as the late manual doesn't have a 6A section.
 
The late manual (1965) shows the lower shroud and thermostat on page 6-15.  
This illustration has a with a very good view of the clip on the  door.
