being a skeptic of chemical trickery over the years i was invited to a clinic
a long time ago on bg products. the trans additive was amazing stuff , added
to burnt fluid it seemed to clean it up and replace damaged additives in
minutes , turning the fluid color almost to a normal color. i never believed in it
much , but used their oil additive as an assembly lube for years after
watching the comparison with stp on one of those spinning bearing demos. .
the stuff i did use that works very well, was the fuel additive it was much
cheaper than storex and "raised the octane". i used it for storage in my boats
and cars for years. i have since lost connections with salesman after i
retired and they are only at chrysler dealers here now. i still feel there is no
substitute for comeplete draining of trannys by removing the pan and washing the
screen etc. i drained converters also on some of them by drilling a 1/8 pipe
thread hole in the converter edge for draining. worked well on most cars. i
am not a believer in extra oil additives either. no substitute for a good oil
and filter change in any engine or tranny or even power steering on newer
cars. very important for survival of steering racks and pumps. i see the proof
very often in the scrap and core bin at my old garage..
