Hi, Chuck.
As a result of my race engine experiences, I prepare my street engines the
same as you describe, except I don't usually remote the cooler for the
street. I have not used a hi-flow oil pump for 30 years now (still got
several in the parts bin), but I still change out the roll pin.
Bill Loftin asked when to get the stronger pins. Well, I get them
at....ahhh.....uhhh.....the hardware store! (Gulp) They are true stainless
roll pins, not spiral pins, as the stock ones are.
