I would suspect that car salesmen who actually LIKE cars are less likely to
be dishonest.  If you do something because you care about the subject matter
you're less likely to be focused solely upon the money.  I've never
purchased a new car, but I've had plenty of encounters with used cars.  My
wife and I bought a Suburban this year from an independent used car dealer
this summer.  The gentleman stocked only higher quality cars and was a
genuine pleasure to deal with.  I'd buy another car from him in a heartbeat.

I'm just enjoying someone else's livelihood being bashed for a change....
