<VV> Re: Ad - Turbo question?

I was somewhat tongue-in-cheek when talking about the AMG. At high speed,
the Mercedes doesn't even seem like it's going 20 mph.

The Spyder is in the 4,000 rpm on the tach reading when I'm pushing it. It
"wants" to go into another gear, like 5th or 6th, which it doesn't have. As
Harry pointed out, the decision to not push and sustain the car at higher
speeds than 55mph is mine and I never wanted to really push. Again, it's
possible that I am at 70 + mph, but the speedo is wavering and it's hard to
get an accurate reading.

I can't tell about boost. The manifold pressure needle moves, but I don't
have the same feel as when a modern turbo hesitates and thrusts forward. As
mentioned, the turbo and carbs still may need tweaking, despite the R/R on
them since the car has always been gently driven and never pushed to the
edge, and I wouldn't be able to compare it to one that is a benchmark.
As I tried to point out in the ad, it's been used as a local cruiser, so
I'll go the extra step to caution any prospect about the car that the high
performance possibilities of the car haven't been fully explored or realized
and that the car still may need additional work if that is their
expectation.

Thanks to all for your prompt responses.
