Ned writes on Virtual Vairs:

I also wonder about Joe being the CORSA internet chair (or whatever the
official title is). Isn't there a potential for a conflict of interest there
somehow? I haven't seen anything that looks like that, but I just have a strange
feeling about that. And, No, I don't want the job. I'd guess that Joe isn't
being for either job. Now that CORSA is going to officially endorse products
and vendors, maybe Lon can be in charge of that? (before you get on my back
for that one, let me say that I support Lon as a CORSA director and a vendor, I
just wanted an example of a potential conflict of interest).

Ned-
Joe just offered to write a description of both Virtual Vairs, the Virtual
Corvair Club, and any other Corvair oriented available forum-type sites. As
on-line editor, he volunteered to keep up a survey of internet activities
pertaining to the Corvair. What is the conflict? The Virtual Corvair Club is not
a commercial site. I look at Joe's article as a service to Corsa Members.

Also, Corsa is not endorsing any products or commercial vendors. Of course,
Corsa has, for years, maintained the parts and repair listing, both on-line
and in the Communique. That is about as close as we have come to "endorsing" a
vendor. We are actively seeking partners to help promote Corsa, that is what
the Clark's "promotion" is all about. Any vendor can offer a discount on
Corsa membership if he/she wants to.

Read the wording in the "Club Updates" section (January Communique) of the
motion that was passed. I initially voted for it, then, when another director
asked if my once-a-year vending at the Convention might be construed as some
type of conflict, I offered to change my vote to an abstention. Lon
abstained. The motion was talked through and through by the directors and was
overwhelmingly approved. I look at this as another service to current members and a
way to expand the organization. That is a part of the mission of the Board of
Directors of Corsa.

And - What does "I'd guess that Joe isn't being for either job." mean? a
typo? - Seth
