Even IF the Mobil 1 cleaned some varnish off the inside of the engine (and 
it likely did), the total volume is not going to change - at least not 
enough to measure on a dipstick.  I assume this was a water pumper.  Did you 
check for antifreeze in the oil?

Attachments (if any) are scanned with anti-virus software.

Hi:

I treated it to some Mobil 1 - 5W40 during the last oil change. I filled it 
to the full mark.

As my road trip progressed, the oil level that showed on the dip stick 
increased.

This leads me to assume that the synthetic oil was able to clean and suspend 
some of the dino oil that had deposited in the motor and return it to the 
oil pan.
