We got the garage up to 50 today!!!!

I cleaned up and painted the accel rod that goes from
the trans to the cross-shaft, and painted it inside
with some high temp black. I also hooked up the
starter (had probs with a connector yesterday.) and
the coil.

Dad and I went out and bought a screw extractor, and a
nice hard steel bit, and I drilled out the evil bolt
that broke off in the yoke. it was actually the easy
part of the job. it was going well, until I pulled a
cup off the U-joint. Thankfuly, the grease was packed
in well enough, all I had to do was push the fallen
pins bearings back into place, and slid it back on.

I spent some time and cleaned up the chrome aroundmy
tyail-lights, and installed them today. I didn't have
to, but I don't know when it's going to get a coat of
paint, and I'll need lights soon.

I also installed an AC fuel filter in line, and hooked
up my new lines to the carbs, and all looks well
there.

Oh, and I screwed on my new Voltage Regulator and
hooked it up....went well.

so...all I have to do now is put a harmonic balancer
on the engine, and at some point the front shroud
(which I was waiting on, but the person has not gotten
back to me, and now I have no money, so that sucks)
and I can run the engine!

of course, the gas tank has to go up there too, but
I'm not doing that till i install the brakes, because
of the lines. Just as well, I can't really drive
anywhere without brakes. this town is one big hill.

Woo!
