Don't forget, in Florida today you pay an average of $0.62/gal in federal, 
state and local taxes.  The oil company makes about $0.05/gal in profit and 
the rest is material costs, refining costs, transportation costs and profit 
for the gas station where you pump the gas.  Out of that $0.05/gal profit, 
the oil company pays about 33% in corporate income tax.  A 42 gallon barrel 
of oil yields 44 gallons of useable products at today's price of $75/barrel 
gives $1.70/gal to dictators, despots and terrorists.

I paid $0.35/gal when I was in High School (and once $0.20/gal when 2 corner 
stations got into a gas war) but those days are long gone.
