there is a molex connector used in the model car and ham radio hobby 
available at hobby shops that would work good. i have used it on all my 12 volt ham 
stuff (in vairs also) for years now.  its rated at 35 - 40 amps.  but i always 
just bypassed that lead on my earlys. removed it from the connector pack and 
soldered /taped it. in fact i ran a whole new #6 wire from the battery forward 
because of my high current headlight, gas heater and and radio demands. i 
installed a breaker at the battery end just out of sight by the firewall.
