Oh, it'll be loud alright - don't forget that unlike a stock car where 
the exhaust points away from the car, the logs are pointing *at* the 
passenger compartment.  BTW, extensions on the exhaust help, I drove a 
Corvair with uncapped headers for a while (headers have the u-pipes 
built in).  With just the headers the car was *LOUD*.  I added a pair 
of 20" or so exhaust pipes and it was still Loud, but not quite so 
painful.  It was pretty fun to go through a tunnel with it like that, I 
drove it for a couple weeks that way.  Even so, there was no way in the 
world to hear the stereo at anything over idle (and I had four speakers 
and an amplifier).

Go ahead, fire it up once just to hear it :-)  But the police (or your 
parents, neighbors, etc.) won't take very kindly to it.
