I always support what the membership wants. At the last autox revisions input was asked for and acted on.
However, we gear head/racers should always bear in mind where we started, that stock is the backbone of the club, not modifieds. We will always need a class that recognises the need to preserve originality. I remember where we started and want to continue to do so.
We have plenty of classes for non-stock.
SCCA has absolutely ruined their stock classes with squatty PURE RACE TIRES and $5000 shock absorbers. They know it and rather than admit it have instituted dozens of new STS classes instead.
A "little" leeway always goes a LOT awry!

Write the competition chair if you have suggestions.

The mini -- well -- was a mini. -- also billed as a Yenko reunion with --
for the "locals" known fun kart track to run.

The Iowa regulars -- too busy to run that week -- usually have 4-5 stock
cars running

At the nationals (2004) -- 11 is SS1, 2 in ss2 Spyders only so limited
regardless, 8 in ss3; 14 in ss4 (35 cars)-- not exactly screaming for more
cars. IS classes 31 cars (I left the ladies out of the count, not
discounting them, they tend to run faster then me, just made it easier to
compare) and 8 street mods

the west coast (2005)  are more Street mod oriented.  still 16 stockers;
only 11 IS and 14 SMs

the classes seem fair as is with 13inch for stock -- And the Corvair dudes
and dudettes DO drive their Concours cars at the autocross --senior division
cars at that -- Hubble, Landers; Norris ; the Sverrsons, myself to name a
few
