Hi Frank,

I remembered about the cam gear an hour after I sent the email. Duh!

How about a welded inch wide or so spacer around the perimeter, same
material 1/4 inch aluminum?

I see no reason to change dip stick calibration.

The flat pan would be eaten by the cam gear. Now if you mill a 1/2" 
sheet......
