Made me look!  I don't have a car here at the moment, but I've got a box of 
horns.  The bolt is short with a pointed tip and the bracket is threaded - 
no nut.  These are (most likely 65 or 66).  Other years might be different? 
Don't know.

Like Frank, I recall a "clunk" a long time ago.  Has not happened twice.
