It pays to be diligent and proud of our Corvairs!

After writing an misguided, misinformed regurgitation about the Corvair, in a Sun Times article Be careful whose car you call ugly, by GARRISON WELLS he is quoted as saying, "Jeez. Who'd have thought there were so many fans of the Corvair out there?"

He goes on to name several devout Corvair owners who brought the fight to his doorstep.

"A local retired Air Force colonel named Arnold Goodman, for instance, who argues that 'It was a good-looking automobile and a wonder to drive. It definitely was not ugly.'"

"Bill Stanley is another one of those Corvair lovers. He points out that the Corvair won design awards and set trends that are being felt even to this day."

Garrison goes on to admit that "One of the editors in the newsroom muttered something about how I dissed two of her early cars, the Ford Pinto and her Corvair.
'It was a beautiful red Corvair,' she said, practically swooning."

Finally Garret writes "Corvair fanatic Bob Boland said he knew of a millionaire in Charlotte, N.C., "that owned a Rolls Royce but would drive his two Corvairs most of the time."
